Project Description
1) Signal Improvements: Hekaha St 1) Improve signal operations at Hekaha St intersection
2) Signal Improvements: Kaahumanu St 2) Improve signal operations at Kaahumanu St intersection
3) Monitoring and Signal Operation Improvements 3) Upgrade traffic signal hardware throughout corridor, including pedestrian safety and traffic monitoring features
4) Signal Optimization 4) Optimize traffic signal operations through the development of an integrated signal plan
5) Median Fencing* 5) Median fencing will be improved or installed
6) Pearl Harbor Historic Sites Gateway 6) An attractive entryway connecting Kamehameha Highway to the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites reception areas

In addition to the Kamehameha Highway Improvements Project, HDOT and DTS have other projects to improve conditions.

1) Kamehameha Hwy & Acacia Rd (HDOT) 1) Project being completed by Wal–Mart as a development condition. Addition of a westbound right-turn lane on Kamehemeha Highway.
2) Acacia Rd & Kuala St (DTS) 2) Improve traffic signal phasing and channelization including additional dedicated turning lanes
3) Waimano Home Rd & Kuala St (DTS) 3) Improve traffic channelization including additional dedicated turning lanes
4) Kaahumanu St & Kamehameha Hwy (DTS) 4) Added curb painting, signing and striping to better define parking restrictions to prevent lane queuing due to parked vehicles
5) Kaahumanu St & Moanalua Rd (DTS) 5) Improve traffic channelization including additional dedicated turn lanes & median with fencing on makai leg of Kaahumanu
6) Kaahele St Re-striping (DTS) 6) Added median & acceleration /deceleration lanes for intersecting streets along Kaahele St
7) Honolulu High Capacity Transit Corridor Project (DTS) 7) Improve the ability of people to move in the highly congested east-west corridor between Kapolei & the University of Hawaii at Manoa via a fixed guide way system. The 20-mile first segment of the project will run from Kapolei to Ala Moana Center via Salt Lake
